Lincoln County Agricultural Society

A nonprofit organization

The mission of the Lincoln County Ag Society is to provide a County fair and other events that the society deems will educate, entertain and improve agriculture, industry, homes, and communities in Lincoln County and surrounding areas. The fairgrounds provide community rooms and a show ring to rent for celebrations, FFA & 4H activities and livestock sales.

Invest in the LinCo Legacy on North Platte Giving Day. The Linco Ag & Education Center is a future facility at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds in North Platte, which will be equipped to host large-scale ag, rodeo and private events, educational opportunities, regional attractions and more. Linco's 90,000 square-foot interior will set it apart as the crown jewel of western Nebraska indoor arenas.

This $12 million project will feature:
Dirt floor arena including 1,100 permanent seats.
Concession area complete with a teaching kitchen.
Open concourse with capacity to seat 500.
Open air lean-to for livestock tie-outs.
Enclosed livestock washroom.
Restroom and shower facility.
Conference room.
Four rentable classrooms.
Administrative offices.

Help us Reach our $65K Goal! Early giving opens on April 19, and thanks to a group of generous donors, the first $7,500 given as part of North Platte Giving Day will be MATCHED. Check out the home page to find out what time your donation can make the most impact with the sponsored extra-giving timeline. We are raising the future of ag and education in North Platte.

Agricultural Development: The Linco Ag & Education Center has been specifically engineered to host traditional animal and agriculture events including rodeo and equestrian sports, livestock shows, and more.

Education and Youth Engagement: Education is the cornerstone of Linco Ag & Education Center. The building's flexible design allows for a wide range of educational opportunities: ag, business and community education classes through Mid-Plains Community College, youth-centered contests and clinics sponsored by organizations like 4-H, FFA and SkillsUSA, after-school programs and more.

Economic and Community Advancement: The indoor venue also presents opportunities for the community to host unique events outside the ag industry including archery, pool, table tennis and cornhole tournaments, trade shows, large-scale training exercises, concerts, dances and other private events.

Testimonials

"North Platte serves as a hub of a huge agricultural region. The County Fairgrounds in North Platte hosts many events already and would host many more if it had an appropriate enclosed arena. Eric Seacrest, Executive Director of the Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation

"Many types of events could be conducted in the proposed indoor facility. Concerts, home shows, craft shoes, auctions, receptions, and possibly motorsports. These activities would be in addition to all the various livestock-related events. Horse shows, cattle auctions, dogs, and training sessions." DeAnna Bauer Driggs, Lincoln County resident

"My business thrives thanks to the Ag Society's involvement in our area to bring agriculture and western lifestyle to the forefront... Thanks to the Lincoln County Ag Society they are helping current farmers and ranchers stay up to date on information and mold the future of farmers and ranchers with their youth activities." Melanie Wright, Owner of Town and Country Western Wear

"The North Platte Area Chamber and Development Corporation is supportive of the Lincoln County Ag Society's efforts to develop a multi-functioning new facility at the fairgrounds. We have a very involved Agriculture Committee that looks forward to having this kind of facility in place.... North Platte is the center of the vast Sandhills region, so it becomes the logical community to host multiple events throughout the year. THis will be a great asset for the Chamber and Development Corporation in our community and economic development efforts to grow North Platte and Lincoln County and build our economy." Gary Person, President and CEO North Platte area Chamber Development
