Litchfield Hills Rowing Club

This spring season, LHRC has an amazing group of talented coxswains in our midst!  For those not familiar with the sport, a coxswain is a vital part of any successful rowing program. They serve as the eyes and ears of the crew, guiding them through every stroke and making strategic decisions based on race conditions. A good coxswain can make all the difference between winning and losing, as they have the ability to motivate and inspire the crew to push themselves to their limits. They also provide invaluable feedback to the rowers, helping them improve their technique and stay on track during races. Beyond their technical role, coxswains are also essential for team morale, keeping spirits high and building camaraderie among the crew. In short, a great coxswain is the heartbeat of a successful rowing program, and their contributions are crucial to achieving greatness on the water.

A skilled coxswain is every coach's greatest weapon and we have some great ones at LHRC so what better way to inspire all of our supporters than in the words of a coxswain…

Alright, rowers and LHRC fans, “hands-on”! We need your help to keep our boat moving forward! The Litchfield Hills Rowing Club is in need of your support to keep our oars in the water and our rowers on the lake so let’s “sit ready”. With your donations, we can “set it up” and make sure our club is running smoothly and that we have the resources we need to compete at the highest level. Who We Are

We are celebrating! We not only survived but we thrived during this unprecedented year.
Our membership stayed strong, our Juniors were able to gather safely to train indoors, and for some it was their only face to face interaction. We’re celebrating our success and asking for your help to keep the momentum going.

During this year of all year’s, with the help of Give Local and a generous grant, we’ve been able to purchase new equipment for our training center, new boats, a new safety launch, and a new boat trailer. And that’s just the beginning! We want to build on all these positives and make Give Local 2021 our best year ever. It’s by far our largest fund raiser of the year and we count on all of you to make it a success.

We have big plans for 2021, a new in door training center is just one of those goals.

Every donation we recieve is used to further the growth and development of our Junior team and helps to fund our Financial Aid program in order to allow everyone to experience the incredible sport of rowing.
