Litchfield Performing Arts

$128,247 raised by 225 donors

2026 Marks the 30th Anniversary of Litchfield Jazz Camp!

The future of Litchfield Jazz Camp—and the promise that no student is ever turned away due to financial need—depends on all of us.

Last summer, the Litchfield Performing Arts Board of Directors established the Vita Muir – Litchfield Performing Arts Fund for Educational Enhancement, seeding it with an extraordinary $100,000 through generous early gifts. This fund is designed to ensure long-term sustainability and access to all that Litchfield Jazz Camp offers for students from every background, protecting what makes Litchfield Jazz Camp so special for generations to come.

Our goal this year is ambitious—and essential:
We aim to raise an additional $100,000 for this fund in 2026. Thanks to the leadership of our Board, this campaign is already off to a powerful start— begun with a gift from the Board exceeding $50,000, and a commitment to match every gift made this year! Our goal during Give Local this year is to raise $20,000 towards this fund, which supports need-based scholarships to Camp.

Double Your Impact

Every dollar you give today will be matched dollar-for-dollar by our Board of Directors, doubling your support.

Help Us Unlock an Additional $10,000

We are also working toward a critical community milestone:

  • If we reach 200 individual donors during Give Local (gifts of any size count towards reaching this goal so please - if you have ever considered donating - now is the time!),
we will unlock a $10,000 challenge gift generously pledged by Tom Cramer and Michele Burger.

That means your participation—no matter the amount—matters deeply. Also, we encourage you to share this with friends and family!

Why This Campaign Matters

It takes an engaged, committed community to uphold Litchfield Jazz Camp’s 30-year promise:
never turning a child away due to financial need.

Each summer, approximately 20–25% of our 300 students rely on need-based scholarships to attend. The new Fund ensures we can continue—and strengthen—this commitment, not just year-to-year, but far into the future.

This campaign is not just about access. It’s about equity, belonging, and creativity—bringing together a diverse group of young people to grow as artists and individuals through the power of music and the performing arts.

What Your Gift Makes Possible

Every contribution directly supports students and their experience:

  • $25 provides a music book for a scholarship student

  • $150 funds a private lesson

  • $200–$1,795 supports partial scholarships based on need

  • $1,995 covers a full week of camp, including tuition, room, and board

Be Part of the Momentum

This year’s campaign is about more than meeting a goal—it’s about building something lasting.

  • Your gift is doubled

  • Your participation helps unlock $10,000 more

  • Your support ensures access for every student who needs it

Together, we can secure the future of this transformative work.

Thank you for being part of this community!
