On #GAGivesDay, you can Join the Movement with your gift in support of adults building better futures for themselves and their families through literacy, life and work readiness education. For over fifty years, Literacy Action has been lifting adults out of poverty by equipping them with the skills they need to reach their next level of best. All of our classes are tuition-free and stigma free – we never turn a student away, no matter how big their barriers or audacious their goals. 

Your donation could be life changing for a student with the determination and resilience to lead a better quality of life. Students like Michael, a young father who passed his GED exam in early 2022 and started a career in tech shortly after, or Andi, a high school drop out who rediscovered her love of learning after committing to Literacy Action and now works as a videographer and performer. Support from our donors helps adults like Michael, Andi, and hundreds of others each year achieve goals such as earning a living wage, becoming more self-sufficient, supporting their children's success in school, and more.

Will you donate to help our students do more – in the classroom, on the job, and for their families? When it comes to literacy, small gains can have a huge impact. According to research from the Barbara Bush Family Literacy Foundation, an adult who advances from Level 1 reading proficiency to Level 3 proficiency can nearly double their annual earning potential from $34,000 to $64,000. Our vision is to end the intergenerational cycle of low literacy and poverty, but we need your help to do so. No gift is too small or too big.
