Today, autism affects one out of 68 children throughout the nation. It is the fastest growing developmental disability at an astounding 1,148% growth rate. Thankfully, for more than 50 years, Little City has successfully created hope, changed lives and challenged the limits placed on children and adults with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Our comprehensive services and programs make us the preeminent organization of our kind in Illinois and we invite you to learn more and join us in our advocacy! Become a champion for individuals with disabilities.

Whether it is our approach to residential care, employment opportunities, athletics, health or art, our goal is to provide our residents and clients with opportunities that reflect their individual desire – a desire to live dignified and productive lives. That was the vision initiated more than 50 years ago by a courageous group of parents who founded Little City. They wanted to remove the labels society used to devalue their children and championed the fundamental belief that every child and every adult has a right to life with dignity, opportunity and respect.

Today, those founding principles along with a therapeutic community approach, continue to guide the programs and services we provide for children and adults of all ages.
