Education is the key to a healthy democracy, and you have the power to help us inform voters ahead of this November's critical election. While cable networks blast wall-to-wall coverage of the presidential race, the Long Beach Post — now the city's largest nonprofit newsroom — is providing robust coverage of the measures that directly impact residents who live here.
To do this, we have help.
The Post is partnering with KLBP radio and Cal State Long Beach to host up to five student interns, who will produce stories, videos, radio spots and photos that will inform residents about key measures on the ballot this fall:
A Long Beach city measure that would tax power plants
A Long Beach City College bond to pay for nearly $1 billion in facility upgrades
A county sales tax measure that is expected to raise billions for homeless housing
The students will also produce general materials for voters, such as how to register, vote and find results.
You can help by donating today, sharing this page on your social media accounts, starting a peer fundraiser on Long Beach Gives, or by becoming a recurring member of the Long Beach Post. (Click here.)
Of course, you also help by reading and sharing stories and other content from a trusted news source!
Help strengthen democracy by supporting local news today.
