In 2017, over 600 people lost their lives to opiate overdose on Long Island.

Suffolk County has the highest overdose rate in New York State; Nassau County is number 4 on that list: it's a top 5 we're not used to being in, and one we don't want to stay in.

LICADD is committed to helping individuals and families struggling with substance use disorders.  Through direct support, community action, and state and federal advocacy, we work to create a better Long Island every day.

Throughout its history, LICADD has been acclaimed as a leading source of prevention through education and early intervention strategies to solve addiction and family related problems. No other agency on Long Island has amassed a track record for over 61 years, transforming the stigma associated with addiction and assisting Long Islanders of all ages through accurate information and positively charged personal testimony.

As an independent and voluntary not-for-profit agency, we are able to objectively tailor our programs and services purely in the best interests of our clients.
