LLS is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research. LLS offers a wide variety of programs and services in support of its mission. The need is critical! Every three minutes, someone in the U.S. is diagnosed with a blood cancer, and more than 1.1 million people in the U.S. are living with, or in remission from, a blood cancer. Leukemia is the second largest killer of children under the age of 20; though it strikes adults at 12 times that number. Lymphoma is the third. While survival rates have drastically increased, LLS remains dedicated to reaching the day when there is a cure for all blood cancers. LLS is committed to creating a strong support system for patients, survivors, and ensuring patients' needs are met. The need is clearly there and we strive to meet it.

In fiscal year 2021, the generosity of our donors allowed the St. Louis Chapter to help ease the financial burden of cancer treatment of patients in Missouri and Illinois by:
• Distributing more than $3.4M in co-pay assistance, $1,100 in Patient Aid (Program did not run Q1-Q3), $75,500 in Urgent Need, and $59,900 in Travel Assistance to help ease the financial burden of cancer treatment.
• Investing over $3.3 million in lifesaving research at institutions within our chapter, including $2.1 million towards 4 local researchers in St. Louis. To date, LLS has funded more than $1.5 billion in the United States and Canada to advance treatments and find cures.
