Louisville Story Program strengthens community by amplifying unheard voices and untold stories. They partner closely with overlooked Louisville residents to provide extensive writing and oral history workshops. Their long-lasting partnerships culminate in professionally-designed documentary books, exhibits, and radio programs in which LSP authors tell the stories of their lives and communities in their own words, from the inside out.

LSP’s goal is to make Louisville a city in which every community is heard, and our stories are lived together. Their process acknowledges than understanding and community flourish where deep listening, and mutual respect can be found. LSP has enjoyed incredible support from participants and the city as a whole in the last four years, and have sold 7,000 books, a nearly unprecedented reach for a small, nonprofit press. Fifty-three previously unpublished authors have earned more than $19,000 in royalties, speaking fees, and book sales commissions, and their four public book launches have averaged 400+ attendees. Their books have been taught in over 20 high schools and middle schools, and in courses at the University of Louisville and Bellarmine University.

LSP’s second annual fundraiser will benefit and enliven Louisville's literary community, and drum up awareness of their work at the same time.
