WHAT IS MISSION REHABILITY?

Mission Rehability is a charitable initiative committed to bringing free and subsidized rehabilitation services to individuals in Santa Cruz, Bolivia who do not have access to affordable care. Many people living with physical disabilities—whether temporary or lifelong—are unable to receive the therapy they need simply because of financial or geographic barriers.

This project was established through Love and Hope Bolivia, a nonprofit Coptic Orthodox charitable organization devoted to missionary, humanitarian, and community-based service. Mission Rehability was created to respond to the growing need for high-quality, compassionate rehabilitation care for individuals living with long-term injuries, chronic conditions, and physical disabilities.

Since 2017, Mission Rehability has operated with a sustainable social-impact approach that blends professional, evidence-based therapy with a deep commitment to serving others. Services provided to paying patients help generate revenue that is reinvested to support reduced-cost and pro bono therapy for low-income individuals. In this way, no one is turned away from essential care because of inability to pay.

Through this mission, we strive to restore mobility, independence, dignity, and hope, improving quality of life for individuals and families across the community.

HOW IS THIS PROJECT FUNDED?

Mission Rehability is sustained through a combination of donations and self-supporting clinical revenue. Monthly pledges, one-time gifts, and charitable contributions make it possible for us to provide rehabilitation services to those who otherwise could not afford treatment.

All donated funds are used exclusively for:

  • Rehabilitation equipment and essential clinical resources

  • Expansion of the rehabilitation clinic to increase space and service capacity for all patients

  • Salaries for therapists providing subsidized and pro bono care

  • Outreach therapy services, allowing therapists to travel to surrounding villages and underserved rural communities when patients cannot come to the clinic

  • Professional training and continuing education for local therapists

This funding model allows Mission Rehability to maintain high clinical standards while continuing to grow access to care for underserved populations—both in the city and in remote areas.

A detailed expansion plan and the specific equipment needed are outlined in the “Expansion Plan” tab.

WHAT IS THIS PROJECT’S VISION?

The vision of Mission Rehability is to build a comprehensive, mission-driven rehabilitation center that serves as a model of equitable and compassionate healthcare. We aim to expand into a larger therapy space and rehabilitation gym, allowing us to serve more patients and provide more complete services.

In addition to expanding the clinic, we hope to strengthen our ability to provide community outreach, bringing rehabilitation services directly to individuals in nearby villages and rural areas who may not have the resources or transportation to access care.

Our long-term goal is to establish sustainable rehabilitation centers in other underprivileged communities where access to therapy is limited.

By combining clinical excellence with a charitable mission, Mission Rehability seeks to promote healing, restore independence, and provide long-term support for individuals living with physical disabilities—regardless of socioeconomic status.

HOW CAN YOU HELP OR CONTRIBUTE?

Your support plays an essential role in the continued growth of Mission Rehability. Prayers, encouragement, and community support are deeply valued as we continue serving those in need.

Financial contributions—whether a one-time donation or a recurring monthly pledge—directly fund the physical clinic expansion and therapy services for individuals who cannot afford care. One of our greatest needs is support for therapists’ salaries, because hands-on rehabilitation provided by trained professionals is the foundation of meaningful recovery. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Your donations also help make it possible for therapists to reach beyond the clinic walls by traveling to surrounding communities and villages to provide care when necessary.

We also welcome volunteer involvement from physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other rehabilitation professionals who feel called to serve through this mission.
