Love INC of Lufkin

The mission of Love in the Name of Christ is to mobilize local churches in Angelina County to transform lives and communities in the name of Christ. Through Love INC, churches and individual Christians are mobilized to work together to provide or connect coordinated help to struggling neighbors with basic needs. From food & clothing, to help with bills, chores around the house or long-term assistance such as life skills training and mentoring, Love INC connects those in need with local help.

Our vision is to see Christian churches united in purpose and fully engaged in living out their faith by lovingly serving people in need in their community. Love In the Name of Christ is a proven model that networks local churches, church volunteers, and community organizations together to help people in need across Angelina County. Our concepts of care are based on Redemptive Compassion and aims to transformation of the neighbor over just fulfilling a need.

Our connection center receives a request for help from individuals in need, assesses the neighbors physical/mental/relational/spiritual health, validates & verifies the need, then provides appropriate resources & referrals. Our goal is to refer for resources & referrals that will not only potentially help with the immediate need, but will establish a relationship based on mutual buy-in that leads to transformation (spiritual, physical, relational, and emotional). The intent of transformational ministry work is designed to help set our neighbors free of being a slave to poverty, feelings of isolation, emotional issues, and free of the chains of sin; ultimately finding peace and rest in a strengthened relationship with Jesus Christ.
