OUR THREE PROGRAMS
NEIGHBORHOOD CONNECTION: Our “boots on the ground” approach to our work is found in neighborhood connection. This programmatic element is literally going through each block and meeting neighbors where they are. At the moment we are strategically focusing on 4 North St. Louis neighborhoods (Vandeventer, Lewis Place, The Ville, and Greater Ville.). The vision of what needs to be done is driven by the neighbors who live here. This is why we firmly believe that North City is/will be revitalized from within.
RESOURCE HUB: It is important to have a place for trusting relationships to exist and grow. The environment throughout the Northside is not only a food desert; it’s a resource desert. This means that in North City there is a huge need for places of peace. Our Resource Hub team will exemplify collaborative leadership and will be ready to connect each individual with other nonprofits, specialists, community leaders, and outside resources. Our continued focus on deepening trust will show up daily as volunteers, staff, neighbors, and friends all work together to build a healthy environment.

LIFT MENTORING: The LIFT mentoring program reaches our city’s youth, ages 12-25. Historically, this aspect of our work has made the biggest impact. This Circle of Care program highlights a unique strategy of empowerment that uses healthy relationships as an engine to drive revitalization from within. We are experiencing a revitalization of neighborhoods from the people who are already living there. This is what we mean when we say, “a community building up community.” Our STL LIFT mentoring program is rooted in this family dynamic. This means that in order to join the LOVEtheLOU program you will first be introduced to our community.
