The LAAC has been in operation since 2003. Our fifteen-member Board of Directors oversees the operation of a gallery and learning arts center in Andalusia. Over the years our gallery has hosted the work of many great Alabama artists, including Mose Tolliver, Woodie Long, Michael Banks, Larry Strickland, Margo Russell, Cleve and Jackie Webber, Warren Mullins, Jo Kelley, Troy University art students, and many other local and regional artists. We offer adult evening classes in a variety of mediums, children's piano and visual arts classes throughout the school year, and summer arts and theatre camps for ages four to twelve.

Plans are in the works to form a community based children's choral group and a local jazz ensemble. We hope to add a number of new adult evening classes in the coming year, and we are continually searching for individuals who are interested in teaching new classes.

The LAAC's long-range plan includes moving to a larger facility so that we may offer a wider range of programs. Our vision is to add more gallery space, giving local artists a venue for showing and selling their work.

Throughout the years we have depended upon the generosity of our community to help us achieve our mission of serving the arts. We thank all of our patrons and sponsors for helping us to keep our organization a viable and important asset to the area. We extend our special thanks to the Solon and Martha Dixon Foundation, The Alabama State Council on the Arts, and the Andalusia Regional Hospital for their very generous and continued support. Thanks to all of you for your generosity.
