LUCÉ INC: Empowering Youth & Families, Strengthening Louisville
At LUCÉ INC, we believe that every child and family deserves the chance to thrive, no matter where they come from or the challenges they face. We are a Hispanic-led, immigrant-founded nonprofit, and our team, who have lived the same experiences as those we serve, is deeply connected to our cause. This personal connection builds a strong sense of trust, understanding, and hope.
Every day, LUCÉ walks alongside students from K-12th grade and their families who are newcomers, experiencing homelessness, or at risk of it. We know that when a student is hungry, struggling with transportation, or moving from place to place, school can feel impossible. That’s why our work is holistic: we mentor youth through programs like “Correr la Voz y Voces Unidas,” support parents with case management and advocacy, and ensure families have access to food, hygiene, and critical resources.
Last year, hundreds of students and families found stability, guidance, and belonging through LUCÉ. A student who once felt invisible now leads with confidence. A family without resources now has a support system they can rely on. These are not just stories, they are powerful transformations made possible by community support, inspiring hope for a brighter future.
📊 Your Impact at a Glance
When we invest in immigrant youth and their families, our entire city grows stronger. Students who feel seen and supported are more likely to graduate, to lead, and to contribute back to Louisville. By breaking down barriers today, we are building tomorrow’s leaders, workers, and neighbors.
Your donation makes this possible. Together, we can turn barriers into opportunities and create a more inclusive, compassionate Louisville for all. Your support is not just a donation, it's a powerful act of empowerment and responsibility towards our community.
Elena’s Story: Finding Belonging, Building a Future
“If I had to describe LUCÉ, I would call it my second home. A place where I finally feel like I can be myself.”
When Elena (name changed for privacy) first arrived in Louisville, she felt completely out of place. She didn’t speak the language, didn’t know anyone, and the weight of a new culture left her anxious and withdrawn. Every day at school felt overwhelming—until one afternoon, she found her way to LUCÉ’s mentorship group.
For the first time, Elena was surrounded by people who understood her journey because they had lived it too. Through Correr la Voz, our school-based mentorship program, she discovered a safe space where she could share her struggles, rebuild her confidence, and begin to dream again. Little by little, she found her voice. Today, Elena leads her peers with pride and is the first to welcome new students who are navigating the same challenges she once faced.
Elena’s journey is just one example of what happens when immigrant youth and families receive the support they need. At LUCÉ INC, we:
Mentor students through school-based programs that build leadership, belonging, and resilience.
Support families with school enrollment, FAFSA applications, bullying reports, and advocacy for special education services.
Connect families experiencing homelessness or housing instability with the McKinney-Vento program.
Our mission is simple but powerful: to promote change and transform lives through empowerment, self-management, and life skills development.
But we can’t do it alone. Elena’s story and many others was made possible because of supporters like you.
Your donation ensures that immigrant youth don’t just survive the challenges of a new life in Louisville, but thrive—becoming leaders, students, workers, and neighbors who strengthen our whole community.
Join us. Together, we can transform more stories like Elena’s into stories of hope, leadership, and opportunity.
