Luke 923 Ministry

A nonprofit organization

We are Dan & Peggy Neubert. We are a ministry that befriends the homeless and the needy in St. Charles County, Missouri. We have three grown children with fifteen grandchildren. We both have corporate jobs during the day and on most evenings and weekends we are visiting with the homeless.

In the fall of 2011, we started serving meals once a month at the St. Charles Salvation Army soup kitchen.

December of 2012, we began reaching out to the homeless by searching for them under the bridges, in the woods, along railroad tracks and down by the river. When we first meet our homeless neighbors, we come face to face with people who are hurting, who are hungry, who are broken spirited. They need someone who cares and believes in them. We let them know that they are not alone and they are loved.

In January of 2013 we began rebuilding and bettering the lives of the homeless by bridging the gap from being homeless to being home. Since then we have helped over 75 people move off the streets to living on their own.

We step out into the community providing:
* MEALS: Since April 2013, there have been dozens of volunteers serving home cooked meals every Sunday afternoon in an empty parking lot.
* HOTEL ROOMS: Every night, since 2014, we have been providing emergency housing to men, women and families who are sleeping on the streets, sleeping in their cars, sleeping in tents, or sleeping under bridges.
* BASIC NEEDS: When we put people up in hotels we provide toiletries, underwear & socks.
* FOOD: When we first meet our homeless neighbors, we would offer to take them to a restaurant for a bite to eat. We would sit, enjoy a meal with them and get to know their journey.

And we have also connected them to local food pantries and thrift stores.
