At the Lupus Foundation, we provide lupus patients and their family members with support services to help them go about their daily lives and manage this disease. These services include:New-Patient Orientation: conducted by our director of patient services at our office, we provide these orientation sessions for newly diagnosed patients and their friends and family. Because of the highly individual nature of lupus our patient services director tailors these sessions specifically to the attendees. Each attendee receives information about their own unique health concerns. This individualized approach is important because it allows us to provide appropriate physician referrals for each newly-diagnosed patient. Education Seminars: The purpose of these seminars is to discuss current issues and trends within the lupus community. Our patient services director makes a note of topics frequently inquired about by patients, and then we put together a seminar program that addresses those concern
