Lutheran Child and Family Services of Indiana/Kentucky, Inc. (LCFS) is a non-profit, 501(c)3social service organization founded in 1883 that offers both residential and community-based services to families and children.

The LCFS mission, “Engaging and Empowering Families and Community with Love, Compassion, Faith, and Support”,  and vision  “Our community will experience safety and stability, in an environment of respect, healing, and hope” exemplify the organization’s approach: LCFS engages with clients and empowers them to develop the opportunities, tools, and skills needed to change the trajectory of their lives.

Your assistance will help our newest program, Pando Aspen Grove of Community Heights (Pando), which is a permanent supportive housing project to provide housing and an array of optional services to youth facing homelessness.  The Pando facility has recently opened to tenants.  The program has 30 one-bedroom apartments to serve young adults ages 18-24, with a special focus on those aging out of the child welfare system. The program will include an on-site food pantry, as well as supportive services to connect youth with educational and employment resources, healthcare, and legal aid, as well as helping them connect with others in the community to build "social capital".  Programming is completely voluntary, and will include recreational activities, nutrition/cooking classes, and budgeting and financial management.
