Lutheran Ministries of Alabama Inc Lma

Lutheran Ministries of Alabama was incorporated on October 9th 1990 as an Alabama Nonprofit Corporation.

The mission of Lutheran Ministries of Alabama is to accomplish the following:

a)    Provide services to meet human needs.

b)    Develop networks and cooperate with congregations, Lutheran social ministry organizations and other human service agencies which address and respond to human need.

c)    Gather, share, and utilize resources from all churches and specialized ministries.

The basis for this mission is that we as Christians, in response to our Lord’s directives, perform works that flow from our faith, demonstrating that our love is for all people, even as the Gospel of Jesus Christ is for all people..

Past programs have included nursing training for women and counseling services.  Current programs include disaster response and preparation, post disaster recovery programs for youth, educational and character building camps, school and prison youth mentoring, and adult supervised visitation centers.
