To LSS, Loron Lewis is a hero. He courageously (and literally) walked a journey from mental illness to mental health and well-being. Loron graduated from our mental health treatment program in Appleton, WI and today, he is walking with others in need through his advocacy.

Loron is one of hundreds of individuals living in the Fox Valley that LSS has the privilege to serve. From school-aged children to the elderly, LSS therapists work with clients leaning on the best evidence-based care including include suicide prevention, men’s nonviolence counseling, alcohol and drug abuse treatment, and adverse childhood experiences and trauma-informed care. Our counseling clinics offer care to people who need it, regardless of their ability to pay. 

There exists a significant mental health treatment gap for adults and youth in the Fox Valley. Data shows that half of those with mental illness in most areas targeted by this campaign are currently unserved. In some areas that is as much as 77%. It is this mental health treatment gap that LSS Counseling Clinic services endeavors to fill.
