Mental Health America of Southwestern PA

A nonprofit organization

To strengthen resilience and recovery in our communities with mental health and substance use education, prevention, advocacy and supportive services.

We advocate. We educate. We serve.

Since 1964, Mental Health America of Southwestern PA (MHA-SWPA) has worked to fight the stigma associated with mental illness through outreach and educational efforts.

MHA-SWPA provides educational programs that help individuals learn about mental wellness as well as explain the challenges of depression, bipolar disorder, and other types of mental illness.

We are dedicated to breaking down barriers and eliminating the stigma surrounding mental health and substance use disorders.

We envision a just, humane, and healthy community in which all people are accorded respect, dignity, and the opportunity to enhance their mental health and develop to their full potential, free from stigma and prejudice.

Testimonials

Mental Health America has helped me personally get back on track. I am in the payee program, which helped me get my life in order. When I needed help the most, they helped me get in contact with the right people and programs and gave me direction when I felt lost. I am better today because of them. I'm happy to know I can get help and not be judged. --Kim Davis
