Missouri Women in Trades

A nonprofit organization

In the United States, women make up less than 3% of the construction trades workforce. In St. Louis, these jobs are wonderful union living-wage careers with great benefits and lifelong value.
We work to increase recruitment, retention, and success of women in all of the greater St. Louis area trades, and there is no other program like ours in any part of the local industry. In fact, there are only a handful of programs like ours in the nation (for now). We help bring women in to the industry through participation in our programs, and we regularly refer women into area building trade apprenticeships. Our programs support those apprentices during their early years, and we provide leadership and skill building to support tradeswomen throughout their career, and we make bonds and lifelong friends. Our programs include: Monthly Meet Ups, Survival Skills, and Workdays with MOWIT. We also provide scholarships to national Tradeswomen Build Nations conference, and we offer tools and other resources to tradeswomen. We are also proud allies of the LGTBQ+ community, and one of the few to do so in the local industry.  We provide a safe and welcoming environment for women to learn about, enter, and succeed, and thrive in the building trades.

We provide women with all the tools to access and thrive in well-paying careers with great benefits -- We're changing lives and communities!!  Join us!
