My Walk With Mg

My Walk with MG is a 501c3 Nonprofit Organization that will educate the community and use resources to help individuals with Myasthenia Gravis live a productive life. Myasthenia Gravis (MG) is a rare chronic autoimmune disease marked by muscular weakness without atrophy and caused by a defect in the action of acetylcholine at neuromuscular junctions. 

Myasthenia Gravis (MG) can drastically change the life of an individual rapidly, causing quick restructuring. The severity of MG, mild or severe, can force and individual into positions of decreased incomes, that can be greater than 60%, decreased or loss of daily living, and other life activities. This contributes to mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual hardships for the individual with MG, their family and friends, bills, and other everyday necessities.  

My Walk with MG will assist newly, and veteran diagnosed patients with information on what Myasthenia Gravis is, the different treatments and medications, the types of MG crisis, and other details surrounding the disease. We will also educate on what signs to look for when in distress t to assist in minimizing mild to severe complications could turn fatal if not treated accordingly. We will engage with family and friends, connect with neighborhood fire stations, and police stations. With MG being one of many rare diseases, it is vital that this information should be readily and used as a reference for help save a life. My Walk with MG will provide any resources needed within the Myasthenia Gravis community.
