Madison Emergency Services Association (MESA)

The Madison Emergency Services Association, Inc. (MESA) is an IRS designated 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose mission is to be a resource for our Madison County neighbors in need. Established in 1982, MESA has served the community for over 40 years by providing reliable safety-net services to countless numbers of Madison County neighbors and friends.

MESA has grown from humble beginnings to become a mainstay of support for Madisonians in need. The growth occurred due to the extraordinary support received from our donors, churches, businesses, schools, grantors, civic organizations, and the invaluable gifts of time from many volunteers and dedicated staff.

With your donations, MESA helps residents of Madison needing necessary daily items! Our unique organization has a Food Pantry that is open several days a week, and on Saturday. In 2023, MESA helped 11,378 individuals representing 4,958 households with food support from MESA's pantry. The pantry offers meats, cheeses, vegetables, fresh fruits, pre-made deli sandwiches, and canned goods to personal hygiene items, and pet foods.

Client Services offer many types of assistance such as help with payments for electric/gas/oil bills, wood for heat/wood stoves, auto repairs and payment/insurance, gas for necessary transportation, rent/mortgage, medical prescriptions/care, and diapers. In 2023, 924 individuals received monetary and in-kind assistance.
