Neighbors giving neighbors a helping hand

There has been an asthonishing uptake in patient registration and client services rendered within the last year. Post pandemic, many of our patients are finding that they are no longer eligible for Medicaid services or have insuffient wages to cover supplimental Medicare. This means that more often than not, members of our community are utilizing their neighborhood Free Clinic as their primary care provider.

The Madison Free Clinic, Inc. is a 501c3 nonprofit clinic serving uninsured (or under insured) adults who live in Madison County, with primary medical care, prescription services, dental, vision and mental health care services. Members of the clinic are seen by providers at the clinic. Our patients are able to fill their prescriptions at our local pharmacy, and participate in the Medication Assistance Program, should they qualify. A patient's eligibility is reviewed every six months; we see patients whose household income is up to 300% above the Federal Poverty Level. While we do not provide medical care for those with Medicare or Medicaid, we can provide vision exams/eyeglasses and dental/denture services if otherwise uncovered.

While we try our best to support every aspect of patient health, economic finical strain has drastically reduced our ability to cover dental, vision, and mental health services at the capacity which our patients deserve. This is where we need YOUR help. Donations are vital to the Free Clinic's ability to provide these important on-going services.

Additional services

We are pleased to offer COVID-19 testing and seasonal Flu shots (ages 19-64). These services are available at no charge to those who live or work in Madison County. Please call us at 540-948-3667 to schedule an appointment. Additionally, we have a Community Health Worker on site, who screens interested folks for social determinates of health. We are then able to help with a broader spectrum of items, such as food, gas, housing, and heating/cooling needs. We have partnered with other agencies, that address those needs, and we are able to connect our patients to them.

Testimonials

I love coming to the Madison Free Clinic because everyone is so nice, knowledgeable and fun. It does not feel like a doctor visit. I have been coming here for over one year now and when I have a problem it’s easy to call and get help. I have received great care!   -Carol

Madison Free Clinic has been such a blessing. It has helped me and my family in so many ways-from clothing to even heat for our home. Whenever we have needed help they have done more than helped. I don't know what we would have done without them. They have helped so much I can not explain how thankful I am. Everyone there is awesome, Jana is always one call away if me or my family ever need anything and I can no be more thankfor for Madison Free Clinic! -Liz

I have found the free clinic to be helpful in getting services including dental care, and testing for COVID. They have also been helpful in getting medication. They are very caring for the people of the community.  -Julius

I had wanted to seek counseling because I have a lot of children and my life is busy. Some things were going on and I sought to keep my mental health in order as I feel it's just as important as physical health. The waitlist for new patients in our area is about 4 months out. However, the free clinic was able to help me get in with their mental health side within a week I had an appointment . I  truly appreciate the free clinic and all it does as they have bridged a gap in the community for those who are stuck in the middle making too much for one and not enough for the other.-Mariea
