Magdalena's Daughters targets our programs towards the many BIPOC youth in our community who are disproportionately victimized by trafficking and other forms of abuse. Our long-term goal is to create a Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) for female foster care youth of color who have been victimized by sex trafficking.

Our Mission

To provide vulnerable youth in foster care with a sanctuary that combats human trafficking by fostering a sense of safety, family, hope, resilience, and a community of belonging.

Our Vision

Our vision is that female victims of sex trafficking and at-risk to sexual exploitation will enjoy and maintain healthy relationships with others and live meaningful lives nationwide

The Need:

Youth of color, especially those in foster care, face a higher risk of being trafficked and exploited. The trauma they endure is unimaginable, but together, we can give them a future filled with resilience and opportunity. Our goal is to establish a Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) that provides these young survivors with the care, support, and family environment they need to rebuild their lives.

How You Can Help:

Your donation today will help us: in achieving our mission to dismantle the victimization of human trafficking and create a safer, more informed, and empowered community through our programs

  • R.A.I.S.E (Antidote to Human Trafficking) :  RAISE (Recognize, Assist, Inform, and Empower) is a meticulously designed anti human trafficking program delivered to youth in foster care and community settings. This program, led by survivors equips students to identify signs of trafficking, understand high-risk locations, and recognize trafficker profiles and methods. More than just education, it's about equipping youth with knowledge of their rights, especially highlighting legal perspectives on coercion and sexual crimes.  Each presentation from sex trafficking survivors, provides real-world context and relatable experiences. The program also delves into the perils of online grooming, demonstrating how traffickers target and exploit youth through digital platforms.
  • R.A.I.S.E THE ROOF : The overarching goal for RAISE the Roof program is to develop these safe harbors in
various counties across California and across the United States. An initial pilot program of four safe homes consisting of three girls in each home along with 2 caregivers, for a total of 12 girls will serve as proof of concept, The Inland Empire, spanning San Bernardino and Riverside Counties, currently lacks specialized housing for foster youth vulnerable to human trafficking.
  • R.A.I.S.E THEIR HOPE :  Youth Leadership Development Program is designed to achieve the following objectives:
    1. Mastery of Essential Life Skills: each participant emerges from the program with a strong command over critical life skills that are pivotal for independent living and professional success.

    2. Instilling Hope and Vision for the Future: Beyond practical skills, self-efficacy is the cornerstone to true transformation. Hope and aspiration undergird the process youth undergo to turn concept into their truth.

    3. Influencing Child Welfare Policies and Housing through Youth Voices: By establishing a foster youth advisory board in collaboration with San Bernardino County Superintendent of School District, the voices of Foster Youth are amplified, and they become Advocates for Change.
