Fabricating Concrete Benches + Global Citizens Conference = An Experience of a Lifetime!

Our educational curriculum integrates Math, Language, Science and Social Science through learning cycles that exceed the common core standards. An important part of the curriculum is immersion into authentic, real world experiences and projects.          

One of the students' activities this summer is fabricating concrete 'Peace Garden' benches and tables to raise money for the 'Global Citizens Action Project Conference' in NYC this fall.

 

Fabricating Indestructable 'Peace Garden' Concrete Benches & Tables:

Under the supervision of the concrete specialist:

• The students mix the concrete and pour it into textured molds.
• They color the concrete to look like real wood.        
• They will deliver and assemble the benches and tables within a 25 mile radius of Glen Ellyn, IL.
• The benches and table are virtually indestructible and are the ideal addition to any home or Peace Garden.

 

Global Citizens Action Project:

• The students fly to NYC and gather with middle school students from across the nation for three days.
• They meet and learn from men and women from around the world who work for non-governmental organizations that serve the needs of communities globally.
•  They tour the United Nations and meet with one of the ambassadors from a UN Mission.
• They visit the sites of New York City, visit Ground Zero, see a Broadway show, and so much more. 

               

New York City is expensive! All donations offset the cost of the trip.

 

MAGE Middle School is a 501C3 nonprofit orgaization. You can donate as little as $10 for subway fares or up to $300-600 for one of their gorgeous benches or tables - delivered and setup at your location within a 25 mile radius of Glen Ellyn, IL.
