Makerspace will provide tools, classes, space and helpful people to allow members and individuals in the community to create manufactured works that would otherwise not be possible on their own.

Imagine a Library of tools that people of all levels of skill have access to with membership. A simple training class on each piece of machinery and your off to making mostly anything you can dream of. Now with new mastered skills, become part of a project where you have a real opportunity to better your community like building handicapped ramps for a family in need. You might even want to be a part of a project where you build rocking chairs for a retirement home. At makerspaces around the world people are doing brilliant things. We want to bring that culture of collaborative making and learning to Greenville.

Makerspace is not a new phenomenon, but it is gaining momentum as of late. Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston to name a few of the more than a hundred Makerspace organizations around the globe.

Greenville and Hunt County have a rich population of innovative individuals. With two manufacturing giants (L3 Communications, and Innovation First) we have a tested talent pool. Texas A&M Commerce and Paris Junior college are growing each year to increase that pool. Greenville High School, Caddo Mills High School, Phoenix Charter School, and Greenville Christian Academy, all have robotics teams that would certainly benefit from a facility such as this.

We are excited to be working with our community and seeing what we can make together!
