Mali Rising Foundation

Since 2004, Mali Rising Foundation (MRF) has opened a world of opportunity for more than ten thousand children in Mali, West Africa’s remote, rural villages.

Mali is one of the 15 poorest nations in the world, with a literacy rate of just 33 percent.  The rugged beauty of the environment is shadowed by years of political unrest, extreme poverty and a lack of resources. Yet the people of Mali are still striving, bright, and ready to move into a better future.

The world needs the bright minds of Mali's next generation to lead their nation to success.  Currently, only 24% of girls and 35% of boys attend school beyond 6th grade. Together, we can change that.

To date, Mali Rising has built 18 thriving middle and primary schools. Each year, more than 3,000 students learn and grow in our schools before going on to improve their lives and the future of Mali.
