Manchester Community Music School, located in the historic and vibrant north Manchester area, offers high-quality musical instruction, personalized music therapy, and enriching performance opportunities for students and clients of all ages.

The Music School is home to 50 of New England’s finest music educators and board-certified music therapists. Together, they serve more than 1,500 students and clients from communities across New Hampshire. People come from near and far to grow musically and personally in a supportive and professional setting.

As a cultural performance center, we provide a variety of engaging programs in an environment designed to inspire. Our space encourages active participation, meaningful interaction, and genuine enjoyment through music.

Above all, we are dedicated to fostering the artistic growth of the community. Through our wide range of offerings, we create opportunities for people to connect, express themselves, and thrive creatively. Importantly, our classes are open to everyone—regardless of age, race, national origin, physical challenges, or ability to pay. We believe music should be accessible to all, and we work hard to make that a reality.

Who We Are

Founded in 1983, the Manchester Community Music School serves over 1,200 students each year through a wide array of programs including early childhood classes, private lessons, small group lessons, chamber groups, the largest youth ensemble program north of Boston, summer community band, summer camps (including Suzuki programs, chamber groups, music technology and recording labs), a high quality, well-established music therapy program, and the most comprehensive Suzuki program in the state. Core to our mission, MCMS is committed to ensuring that anyone wishing to study music can regardless of their financial situation. As such, since our founding 32 years ago, MCMS has awarded over $1,250,000 in need-based financial aid to over 5,200 students in need. This year the school will award more than $100,000 in financial aid to over 255 students in the form of both full and partial awards.
