Purpose Statement

The purpose of this organization shall be to provide entertainment and to encourage the advancement of theater art in all its branches. It shall provide opportunities for the cultural, technical and educational growth of its members through experience in legitimate theater.

The Mansfield Playhouse, continuing its legacy as Ohio's second oldest community theater, provides a variety of affordable theatrical experiences. Dedicated to achieving the highest quality in all we do, enriching and educating our audiences and volunteers, and reaching beyond the walls of the Playhouse to embrace all elements of our community.

We aim to create a cultural, economic, and employment hub that fosters creativity, innovation, and inclusivity. By producing exceptional theatrical performances and providing educational opportunities, we will enrich the lives of our community members and inspire the next generation of theater professionals. We are committed to partnering with local businesses, organizations, and community leaders to drive economic growth and provide employment opportunities for our community members. Together, we will build a vibrant and resilient community that celebrates diversity, nurtures artistic expression, and elevates the human spirit.

Our Drive:

The Mansfield Playhouse strives to become an integral part of our community. Not only do we produce high-quality theatre that promotes growth in responsibility, discipline and networking, we work with other local talent. Our organization has hosted film screenings, concerts and CD release parties. There has been collaboration with the Mid-Ohio Civic Opera. Actors work with the National Association of Mental Illness by role playing scenarios during their Crisis Intervention Training for local law enforcement. The Playhouse is a part of the local downtown nightlife and supports the local bars and restaurants.

Poised for future growth, the Mansfield Playhouse would like to offer employment opportunities. Your gift can help us make that a reality.

The most important thing is that funds are used to assist us in operational efforts and make the viewing experience affordable for the entire community. Our goal is to offer as much as we can to as many as we can.

The Mansfield Playhouse is so grateful to The Richland County Foundation for teaming up with MightyCause and offering the Richland Gives - Day of Giving event to local non-profits. We have been blessed with active participation from the community during past events and now, more than ever, we are appreciative of the opportunity to generate additional funds for our organization. The smallest gift can assist us with utility, insurance and payroll expenses.
