March of Dimes Kentucky

From 2007 - 2009, Kentucky was the sight of a March of Dimes' demonstration project called Healthy Babies Are Worth The Wait.  Hospials and health departments around the Commonwealth participated and helped show that the preterm birth rate could be lowered through an integration of primary care and publie health.  It was successful and the program in Kentucky has grown and its results are being rolled out in other states as a signature program of the national March of Dimes.

Support from within the Commonwealth allows the initial program to flourish, and for Kentucky to still be the model for how a statewide program can make a difference for all its citizens.
