Marian Manor has been engaged in developing a more Resident Centered Care approach to the dining experience of the 184 residents who are presently cared for at our facility. Food means many things to many people, but a common image that comes to mind is the notion of "home". The goal of this initiative is the creation of an attractive, warm, cozy space which will have the added benefit of giving the residents a special area where they will look forward to spending time and socializing with each other and with family and staff. The use of a china service and flatware that is uniform and does not look institutional, cloth tablecloths and napkins and attractive centerpieces will all enhance and make a more inviting milieu. Other changes include new window treatments which will involve choosing attractive drapes and blinds that will support a colorful and pleasant environment.
