You can make a difference by donating today to Day of the Dead San Francisco to enable us to:
- The Marigold Project is a thirty-one-year immersive arts initiative led by and in support of immigrant communities for the preservation and celebration of indigenous cultural practices.
- The Marigold Project contracts with California-based artists, musicians, poets, dancers, and visual artists of all backgrounds and abilities who conduct participatory workshops and immersive arts programming associated with the annual Day of the Dead SF.
- Serving the community by creating healing spaces that connect us to our ancestors in One Spirit, the Marigold Project provides cultural education, art and writing workshops, and altar-building skills to honor the circle of life and death.
- Focusing on ecological and sustainable practices, our programming connects the elements of Air, Fire, Water, Earth, and Center with altar-building to celebrate the ancestors and honor the earth.
- Dia de los Muertos Festival of Altars event has fostered authentic cultural expressions in the Latinx communities in San Francisco, particularly families and children. In our expanded communities, marginalized sectors have found a place to thrive, including the broader BIPOC communities, people with disabilities, Translatino SF, and the LGBTQ+ community.
