...older adults with free activities, socials, information sessions and games to make friends and stay active.
...family centered programs that bring joy to children and friendship to their families.
...gatherings that bring strangers together to play, create and laugh together.
For over 50 years the Marion Gerrish Community Center (MGCC) has helped thousands of people by providing a place for
organizations to gather and do their good work. These organizations consist of support groups, sports teams, social service agencies, older adult gatherings, nonprofits and many more. Nearly 150 organizations meet at the MGCC throughout the year. All organizations, clubs, teams, agencies, and nonprofits are welcome to use the meeting space without charge. The MGCC has become the “heart” of our community, being connected to many individuals through the organizations that support them.
In addition, the Marion Gerrish Community Center (MGCC) has a variety of community programs.
We provide family friendly, community building programs through events like Family Fun Fest and Community Pumpkin Carving. We also have programming for children such as our after-school enrichment program for students at Gilbert H. Hood Middle School, Winter Vacation Week, sending 15 students of need to summer camp for 2 weeks each summer, and Winter Wiggles which gives physical activity to preschoolers and community for their caregivers.
Older adults benefit from our games and activities, of which we have at least 2 every weekday. Each month we have a movie with popcorn and soda, an information session, a fun activity or entertainment and help with personal electronics at our WiFi Café every month.
We also assist and collaborate with nonprofits and service agencies and support them with our What’s the Scoop Around Town event every year.
All of these programs are available to the community at no cost, no membership fees, and no residency requirements. We are truly available to the community.
MISSION
We provide the environment, opportunity, and support, to individuals and organizations, to build and strengthen our community.

We have 150 different nonprofits that use our building as their meeting space. 150! That's a lot of good work being created, discussed and implemented in the community; right from this building! We host groups like boys & girl scouts, AARP Tax Aide, local youth sports organizations, support groups, social services organizations and many more. The Marion Gerrish Community Center is here to provide meeting space for your nonprofit, organization, club, team or gathering! By helping us, you help 150 different groups continue their good works, by giving them a place to meet! We also offer older adult games groups every weekday including mahjongg, 45's, whist, cribbage and more. We have outdoor games available for the community to use such as bocce and cornhole. We continually collaborate with other organizations to offer programming like Wi-Fi Café and On My Own teen series. Our nonprofit began in 1972 with all volunteers and today we have a staff of 20 that are working hard to continue and build upon this legacy to be the heart and hub of our community!
