Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center was founded in 1968 by a small group of community leaders to develop and operate a local radiation treatment facility that would serve all citizens of Greater Baton Rouge. Today, the organization delivers comprehensive cancer care throughout southeast Louisiana with locations in Baton Rouge, Covington, Gonzales, Hammond and Houma.

We partner with area physicians and hospitals to integrate all aspects of cancer care, along with extensive supportive care services and clinical research programs. Partners include Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales and Terrebonne General Medical Center in Houma. Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center is located on the campus of North Oaks Hospital in Hammond as well.

Our mission is to improve survivorship and lessen the burden of cancer through expert treatment, compassionate care, early detection, research and education.
