$10,000 Goal

The Mary Culver Home has been a haven for women with vision loss for more than 150 years. We started as a residence for nine young women graduating from the Missouri School for the Blind whose goal was to live independently from their families.

Today, we are a cozy 27-bed intermediate care community in the heart of Kirkwood. The Mary Culver Home also is the only care facility in the United States exclusively serving visually impaired women.

Proceeds from Give STL Day will help provide residents a lifestyle that says home rather than facility.

“(The staff’s) dedication to caring for residents and ensuring everyone feels included in activities is truly commendable.  A well-maintained facility adds to the overall comfort and positive environment.”

“Mom came to Mary Culver Home … on hospice and in a wheelchair. Within a short time, she was able to come off hospice and with physical therapy was able to walk with a walker.  She was enjoying life again with the help of your facility staff and residents.”
