The Best Christmas Present:

Sara and Tad expected their baby to arrive on Christmas, but Sara was admitted to Mary Lanning Healthcare a couple of weeks before, dehydrated from stomach flu. Doctors and the OB nursing staff helped her bounce back.

Sara went into labor December 20 and her baby boy, Landry, was born the next day by C-section. But the 9 lb. 2 oz. infant was sick.

“The wonderful doctors at Mary Lanning saved our little boy’s life,” said Sara wiping a tear from her cheek. “There were NICU wires everywhere and we couldn’t touch him because he was so sick.”

“The OB nurses are great,” said Sara. “They let us know that Landry was their top priority. They knew what to watch for and helped us understand what each change meant. They knew how worried we were and kept our spirits hopeful.”

“My mom is a nurse. She was so impressed with the care Landry and I received at Mary Lanning. She saw the doctors and nurses work as a team and really care about their patients.”

Mary Lanning Healthcare Foundation recently received a bequest of more than $500,000. Like many bequests here in the Midwest, the donor made their estate plans to help sustain those cornerstones of their community.
