Mastodon Art/Science Regional Fair

The Mastodon Art/Science Regional Fair is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that supports students, teachers, parents, and the community in the development of the creative and scientific process to submit creative and novel projects in the annual regional competition held each March at Jefferson College in Hillsboro, Missouri; along with hosting community events to expand creativity and knowledge.

Our mission is to encourage our community in art and science education through competitive events and educational opportunities. We want to help participants explore curiosity, promote creative solutions, inspire change, and support student education through art and science.

Fair projects can be submitted by teachers, parents, or guardians of students in Kindergarten through 12th grade and may be individual or group projects in the fields of art or science. Students can be enrolled in public, private, or be homeschooled. Any student may register. Those middle and high school students who wish to qualify and move to the national level, must come from one of the following 18 counties: Brown, IL; Callaway, MO; Crawford, MO; Dent, MO; Franklin, MO; Gasconade, MO; Jackson, IL; Jefferson, MO; Maries, MO; Osage, MO; Perry, IL; Phelps, MO; Randolph, IL; Union, IL; St. Francois, MO (Art Only); Ste. Genevieve, MO (Art Only); St. Louis, MO (Art Only); & Washington, MO.

With the help of sponsors and donations, we assist with sending the top high school students on to compete at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) and middle school students to the Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge (previously known as Broadcom MASTERS).

Also available are workshops and camps to increase knowledge and awareness of skills and what the Fair is about to the community.

As a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, we rely solely on donations and grants. We have been active since 1979, without continual support, the Fair will not be possible. Please help!

Other ways to support us are: via direct donations, memberships, purchases from our Amazon Wish List, Prairie Farms "Your Caps, Our Cause," and by volunteering your time.

All donations will be acknowledged on our website, social media, and the week of the Fair.
