MBA Church and Community Ministries is:

1. Prayer-Over a period of time in 2008, prayerful Christians in our MBA churches saw that there were 5 areas of need in Montgomery, AL: Poverty, Crime, Racism, Schools and Abuse or Misuse of Affluence. They knew that the best place to start to see change was through prayer. All over Montgomery, churches pray often for these areas to be healed.

We recently heard from the MPD Police Chief that CRIME has gone down to the lowest it has been in 20 years. Guess when it started to drop? After 2008...when Montgomery Baptists and other Christians in the area begin to intentionally pray for this city.

Schools are now allowing parents and friends of the community to have prayer walks for the school (After school hours)and tutor children in their schools.

During 2011, in Lowndes County, a group of churches, both black and white, sat down and began to look at how they could stand for Christ through practical ways of ministry and created the Olive Tree Ministry that will assist the Board of Educaiton in tutoring children. They also want to know that as Christians, they are determined to fight, through prayer and life style, to break down racial barriers in that county!

2. Forest Park Ministry Center-Our ministry center serves hundreds of families every year who are in need. Our goal is to help families be as self-sufficient as possible but always available to help in an emergency. English classes, Mentoring Moms, Layettes for New Moms, groceries, clothing and some utility assistance is available for the community. 3. Samaritan Inn-This ministry serves families who have to come to Montgomery because a loved one is in the hospital for a length of time. SI serves these families by offering a place to stay and support during their stay. A volunteer is assigned to each family for prayer, errands or other needs.  Recently, SI has the privilege to serve families who were affected by the April 2011 tornadoes. 3. MBA Conversational English School-serves over 250 students from 47 countries. Students come to learn English and end up learning more about our country, Montgomery and the one true God through Jesus. Longtime friendships are established and many peoples lives are changed. 4. Family Resource and Counseling Ministry-is a low cost, Christ centered counseling ministry that reaches out to families and individuals in need of support along the way. Churches and former clients refer others to this ministry because of the good care they received themselves. FRCM is a licensed practice and has a sliding scale payment plan. NO ONE is ever turned away because of lack of funds. MANY have seen healing  come to their own lives and the lives of their loved ones through FRCM. Contact their office at 334-271-6241.

Overall, CCM not only serves our community in helping people be as independent as possible but introduces them to Jesus Christ.
