Directors Desk,

MDE School was founded in 2009 in memory of my husband Marc David Elkan(MDE). Marc passed away very suddenly on August 16, 2009 and I was inspired to keep his legacy and his memory alive by establishing a school for children who learn differently.

Marc loved children and was always there to help at Greater Atlanta Speech and Language Clinics, as well as volunteer regularly at hippo-therapy and any functions around town such as the Autism Walk. His heart and mind were always open to any individuals who needed help, especially children. He was dedicated to his family and friends and helped all to be motivated and succeed in any endeavor they tackled.

My hope and dream is that the students at MDE School will learn in their own way and we will instill the traits of motivation, dedication and excellence in all they do to become as successful and as independent as possible.

Our students at MDE School have achieved success in all areas of their lives. As we enter our 11th year of school we hope to continue to grow the love of learning and will continue to encourage each child to reach their maximum potential. We have achieved many milestones in our 10 years and I know that Marc would be proud of each and every child and applaud all of our staff for the amazing work they do with the passion and love they exude.

MDE School prides itself on providing a loving and nurturing environment that Marc would have expected.
