Meals On Wheels of Tampa Inc

For the last seven years, Meals On Wheels of Tampa has delivered fresh produce to recipients' doors. Produce On Wheels (POW!) launched in October of 2015 after we heard from our homebound recipients that they wanted fresh fruits and vegetables.  This vital program provides healthy snacks, additional nourishment, and increased access to fresh produce.

The produce bags vary by the month, depending on the season, but typically include 6-8 different fruits and vegetables and an educational handout (offered in both English and Spanish) that highlights the health benefits of the items and some easy recipes.

 The produce bags are free of charge and are delivered to the recipient’s homes by volunteers on the third Saturday of most months. Recipients tell us they love the produce and this program! 

Our goal is simple, to continue to nourish and enrich the lives of Greater Tampa's seniors and homebound community with more than a meal. Produce and gas costs are rising and we want to ensure this special program continues at no cost to our senior and homebound neighbors.   

Please help us raise funds for our Produce On Wheels Program and other operational costs. Our goal of $35,000 provides fresh fruits and vegetables, to all those on our service, for an entire year! This is only possible with your support.

Since 1975, Meals On Wheels of Tampa has been committed to nourishing, enriching and strengthening the lives of seniors and individuals who have difficulty leaving their homes and are challenged to prepare meals. We rely on our community for support and do not accept government funding. We are funded by this community, for this community!
