Media Power Youth

We believe in the power of young people to use media for good. Together we can inspire youth to advocate for their well-being whether they are engaged with friends in a digital community or in-person at school. By giving to Media Power Youth, you can ensure children and teens have access to media literacy education that enhances mental health and builds empathy skills. Our programs, such as Reel Explorers, My Digital Life, Tech Talk, Conservation Quest, and Behind the Lyrics, help students find their own voice and identify strategies for communicating their needs in positive ways.

We help students and families build the skills they need to navigate changing technologies that often hijack our attention away from life's most meaningful moments. Our workshops explain the ins and outs of social media and how to redirect the waves of "online" challenges that put our youth at risk. We create opportunities to learn about cyberbullying, managing emotions, anxiety, misinformation, body image, vaping, and other social situations young people experience through discussions and media making activities. We partner with our Youth Media Squad and Educator Advisory Boards to ensure that our learning experiences are authentic and grounded in evidence-based approaches.

Who We Are

Media Power Youth is a New Hampshire-based nonprofit with nearly two decades of experience in media literacy education. Our mission is to provide curricula, training and workshops to build young people’s media literacy knowledge and critical-thinking skills through hands-on, engaging programs. Our goal is to teach youth to consume and create media safely and responsibly, reaping all of its benefits while recognizing the influence it can have on physical and mental health, decision-making, and relationships.
