Meg Matters Inc

In the early morning hours of Monday, June 28, 2021, beloved daughter Megan lost her battle with mental illness. Despite receiving treatment, counseling, and the unwavering love of family and friends, she struggled with depression and anxiety for many years.  At only 20 years old, Megan had a bright future, but the weight of her illness obscured that potential from her view.

Just before the first anniversary of Meg’s passing, her mom went on a girls trip to Savannah which provided the inspiration for what would become Meg Matters.  Each woman on the trip knew Meg personally and had also experienced their own struggles with mental health, either personally or within their family.  Amidst the historical sites and delicious food, the laughs and tears gave way to honest conversations and from the ashes came a desire to help others in their journey with mental health, and to hopefully prevent another family from enduring the relentless grief of losing someone to this terrible illness.

In honoring Megan's memory, Meg Matters is committed to extending a compassionate hand to those in need and advocating for a culture where love comes first and kindness always matters.
