• Educating our community: We raise awareness about mental health, promoting early intervention and reducing stigma.
• Developing innovative programs: We partner with organizations and providers to deliver mental health resources directly to those who need them most.
• Working towards zero suicides: We offer suicide prevention training and support programs to save lives.

This year, the Mental Health Task Force is working to:

• Re-launch the Polk County Suicide Awareness Walk! This annual event brings people together to support one another, spread hope, and raise much-needed funds for suicide prevention programs in Polk County.
• Provide free Mental Health First Aid and suicide prevention trainings, equipping our community members with the skills needed to provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis.
• Spread positive mental health messages and resources throughout our community with events like Stepping Up for Mental Health and our reboot of the Back of the Door Campaign.
• Offer monthly Journey to Vitality - Recovering Together Cafés and groups to provide innovative mental health support opportunities free of charge for community members in need.
