MentoringWorks, Inc.

A nonprofit organization

To cultivate transformative relationships that build a foundation for success for mentors, mentees, and the community. MentoringWorks provides essential mentoring throughout the Hastings area to give young people a positive role model, a chance to build relationships and to gain a better understanding about themselves and others. Our program has proven to have a positive impact on both the mentee and mentor. Your financial support helps take a proactive approach to impacting students.

Currently, MentoringWorks has two programs:
- SchoolConnect: Intended to serve students from kindergarten to fifth grade (mentees) who receive mentoring services from students in 11th grade through the age of 22 (mentor). This helps both the mentee and mentor learn valuable skills that help them with their decision-making, coping with stressors, and learning about giving back to others.
- CareerConnect: Intended to serve sophomores, juniors and seniors in high school (mentees) by placing them with an employer in the community (mentor) in an area that they have an interest in pursuing upon graduation from high school. This program helps connect students with potential employers, establishes new contacts, and keeps youth in our community after graduation.

Testimonials

The impact this program has affects not only the mentees but also the mentors. The weekly interaction between the two provides a safe environment for the mentees to grow and build a strong relationship with a positive role model while the mentors can see the positive impact they can have on others. Seeing both the mentee's and mentor's eyes light up when they see each other at their meeting time is an experience that warms the heart. Mrs. Kylee Greisen School Counselor, Watson Elementary
