MENTORS & MEALS (M&Ms)

The first "M" = Mentors.  We all learn best from people we like!  The mentors are role models, outstanding students or top notch adult volunteers who establish strong relationships with their students and enjoy the rewards of giving back to their community through volunteer service.

The second "M" = Meals.  Who can study when they are hungry?  At Mentors & Meals we start each study session with a healthy snack and end with a hot, home-cooked meal.  No cell phones are allowed at M&Ms, so there is lots of good conversation going on from 5:00-5:30.

Mentors & Meals meets kids where they are and provides them with an encouraging, upbeat environment in which to do homework, work on computer projects, learn new study skills or to simply get organized and ready for the next school day.  After the homework help hour, there is a 30 minute group activity in the gym, a guest speaker, a STEM-infusion program or reading dogs followed by dinner.  Sometimes it looks like "organized chaos" but M&M students know how to multi-task as they learn from their mentors and get their work done.

Through collaborations and in-kind donations, Mentors & Meals is FREE to all students, but we need your help.  Please think about the mentors in your life and give in honor of them or in honor of a current mentor or student. Your chance to genourously give to M&M's is November 29- December 30th!
