Every day, millions of Californians sacrifice food, healthcare and education to pay for housing. At Mercy Housing, we believe that no one should face those choices.

Mercy Housing is one of California's largest developers of affordable rental communities. We provide safe, stable homes for 8,900 people in the Bay Area alone, including more than 2,000 kids.

Our residents include families of working people like teachers' aides, retail clerks and cab drivers. They also include senior citizens living on social security, formerly homeless veterans, emancipated foster kids and others who cannot afford decent homes at market rates.

To help our residents thrive and achieve their dreams, we offer free, on-site services like wellness classes, financial counseling, afterschool programs and much more.

Our residents are people like Luz. Abandoned at age 15, Luz got herself through high school and into college but ended up homeless. Today Luz lives in a Mercy Housing apartment community in San Francisco and is finishing her BA with a 4.0 GPA.

"Now, I can focus on school and my career," she says. "I am really thankful to have a stable place to achieve my goals and dreams."

Our residents are people like James. A retired Marine, James lived for ten years in shelters and garages. Now he lives in a Mercy housing community dedicated to veterans.

"I didn't have a house key for 13 years," he recalls. "Now I have a bed instead of sleeping in a parking lot, on the ground, on a piece of cardboard. I have somewhere to sit down and enjoy the dinner I cooked in my own kitchen."

Please support Mercy Housing and help more people like Luz and James find their way home.
