Back in 2004, a short trip to Ukraine altered the plans and aspirations of the Mahy family. Now, what began as the call to adopt has given birth to form an organization called Mercy’s Hope.

Now Mercy’s Hope has grown into an organization which powerfully impacts hundreds of children, youth and helps numerous families throughout Ukraine. The dream of the ministry started in 2005, when Cris and Karen Mahy spent extended time in Ukraine adopting their daughter who is now the youngest of their three children.  During that time the couple witnessed, first hand, the great emotional and spiritual distress among many of the orphan children they met. Because of the couples extended stay in Ukraine, relationships grew with many of these orphans and underprivileged children, through which the vision of Mercy’s Hope was birthed.  Since then, Cris and Karen have returned to Ukraine multiple times, individually and with teams, to provide help and comfort to many hurting, broken and needy orphans and individuals. During these visits, strong relationships were established with local Ukrainians which opens-up the opportunity to provide help in meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of so many children, students, and families. To this day, these personal relationships remain strong through partnerships that serve as an internal part of the ongoing success of Mercy’s Hope and it’s Ukrainian ministries.
