The Messengers of Light

INTRODUCTION

The Messengers of Light organized the Sitio IpeTajy Kid's Camp for abused and abandoned children. The Sitio IpeTajy is 5 acres of land located in the Serra da Paulista mountains of Central Brazil. We help children with traumatic early life experiences to connect with the healing properties of Nature. Our work is geared to introducing isolated children who may have anger and grief issues along with reactionary behavioral challenges to our native world that flows with harmony and beauty. We offer children the opportunity to experience the healing power of trees, flowers and animals in a holistic and natural environment. We help abused, neglected and abandoned children gain respect for themselves, respect for others and respect for the environment. 

We call our work Ecotherapy and this is the Essence and Spirit of the Sitio IpeTajy Project.

OUR OBJECTIVES

• To foster a loving atmosphere of caring and sharing that will encourage children to grow emotionally, socially and spiritually.

• To provide equipment and materials that stimulate the physical, emotional and intellectual growth, according to the developmental level of each individual child.

•  To maintain our high standards for exceptional service to and education of the children.

 

OUR NEEDS

We urgently need to construct a Community Center as many  of the Camp activities are outdoors and weather-dependent; susceptible to rain, storms and high winds.

The Community Center will also contain overnight sleeping facilities to expand our program. The estimated construction cost for this 250 square meter facility is US $115,000.
