Messmer Preparatory School

Since 1926, Messmer Catholic Schools has provided a high-quality Catholic education for nearly 1,700 students. Messmer provides a continuum of learning from grades K4-12 at three campuses:

1. Messmer St. Rose Elementary School
2. Messmer Preparatory School
3. Messmer High School

Messmer Catholic Schools' students come from Milwaukee's most impoverished neighborhoods. Our increasingly-diverse student body travels from 26 zip codes to attend Messmer Catholic Schools. Approximately 90% of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. A majority of our students are from non-traditional or single-parent households. Messmer Catholic Schools is changing the lives of these students every day, forming future leaders who will one day go on to change the lives of others.

How do we form future leaders?

Messmer combats the cycle of poverty and violence by emphasizing literacy and STEM education. We know that personal dignity, purpose and success depend upon children attaining literacy as soon as possible. Similarly, people of color from impoverished neighborhoods are historically underrepresented in engineering- and business-related career fields. Messmer has launched several successful programs and pathways to change that.

Messmer Catholic Schools students are readers, builders and leaders. We prepare our graduates to excel in college, to succeed in the workforce and to become productive citizens.
